White Rose Libraries is an award-winning partnership between the libraries of the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. Our mission is to support collaborative activity between the partner libraries; to oversee the operation and development of existing shared services; to identify and evaluate opportunities for new shared services; and to support innovation and service development. The WRL team is based at the University of York, and we travel regularly to Leeds and Sheffield to work with colleagues across the collaboration. Our role is to lead, facilitate and coordinate collaborative activities between the three libraries to add an extra layer to the services they offer.
WRL has three main areas of focus – innovation and collaboration, the repositories services, and White Rose University Press:
White Rose University Press
WRUP is our jointly managed, not-for-profit, Open Access academic press. Its publications are primarily digital and are free to access and download without barrier anywhere with a live internet connection.
Innovation and Collaboration
The WRL Innovation and Collaboration Board work together with colleagues across the three sites to identify, explore, and implement potential areas of collaboration.
Repositories services
White Rose Libraries share the UK’s only collaboratively managed institutional repositories, providing access to full-text research and theses from scholars of the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York through shared infrastructure.
